Ontario has reached a major milestone in the construction of a new four-storey patient care building at Milton District Hospital.
On 3 June 2016, the new Milton District Hospital celebrated the topping-off ceremony, meaning the new facility has reached its highest point of construction. This brings Halton Region one step closer to benefiting from this new infrastructure.
Through this expansion, patients in Milton will benefit from:
Construction at Milton District Hospital is now underway and is expected to be complete in the first half of 2017, opening to patients mid-to-late 2017. At the peak period during construction, approximately 500 workers will be on site daily.
The project will target the Canada Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED®) rating system, with a goal of achieving LEED® Silver certification.
