Plenary Infrastructure Belle Chasse (PIBC) has been awarded a contract by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) to upgrade, operate and maintain the tolling system on LA-1 to Grand Isle.

PIBC is responsible for modernizing the existing tolling infrastructure, updating and providing back-office systems, as well as operations and maintenance services, including the operation of the Customer Service Center in Golden Meadow, LA. The new tolling system will work with the state’s current GeauxPass transponder program and will include new features such as toll-by-plate capabilities. Toll rates and vehicle classifications remain the responsibility of LADOTD.

The term of the contract includes two years of construction and 23 years of operations and maintenance responsibilities, with an option to extend the contract at the end of the term in 2046.

The contract was awarded as part of an amendment to PIBC’s contract for the design, construction, financing, operations and maintenance of the new Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project. More information about that project can be found here: https://bellechassebridge.com/
