This historic project will fully replace the existing Mississauga Hospital with The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital—set to be the largest hospital in Canada.
As part of this transformation, the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children will become Ontario’s first hospital dedicated to women’s and children’s health within a general hospital setting.
Together, these new state-of-the-art facilities will support better access to care, shorter wait times, and improved outcomes for patients across Mississauga and beyond. Once complete, the new hospital will feature over 950 beds, expanded emergency and surgical services, advanced diagnostic imaging, a modern pharmacy and laboratory, and a new parking structure—supporting more care, closer to home, for generations to come.
