When complete in mid-2026, the Health Clinic will train an additional 400 allied health professionals and psychologists each year, providing students with clinical placements and valuable hands-on experience, ensuring they are confident and skilled to enter the health workforce.
Operating as a state-of-the-art healthcare facility serving the public, the clinic will also offer a broad range of allied health services, including orthoptics, speech pathology, podiatry, psychology, dietetics and nutrition, physiotherapy, audiology and occupational therapy.
The four-storey facility is designed with a patient-centric lens to provide a high quality allied health service for community members and health education. Beyond fulfilling its functional role, the building will act as a northwestern “gateway” marker to the campus with the building corner highlighted with a vibrant glazed brick façade.
A unique and iconic feature of La Trobe Bundoora is the vast network of creeks, moats and waterways winding through the environment. One of the ecological “green corridors” intersects with the building, eroding the façade and creating a clear entry point, planted forecourt and courtyard. This gesture, combined with a striking glazed green brick façade, creates a memorable welcoming statement.
Consistent with Plenary’s commitment to sustainability and La Trobe University commitment to become carbon neutral by 2029, the building has been designed to be all electric and achieve a 5 star Green Star rating.
