Group Head of Infrastructure
As Group Head of Infrastructure, Damien manages, leads and provides executive support for Plenary’s Origination team across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and UK and Europe.
The Origination team Damien manages is responsible for Plenary’s business development, partnering, bidding, infrastructure development and equity investment activities in greenfield public private-partnership projects.
Damien is based in Melbourne and has over 25 years of project and structured finance and public-private partnership experience across Asia Pacific and Europe. He has successfully led bidding consortia under a variety of risk allocation approaches, including availability payment and hybrid real estate models in the social infrastructure and civil/transportation sectors.
Damien’s leadership of and participation in successful public-private partnership bids in Australia includes the High Capacity Metro Trains, the Western Roads Upgrade, the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre and Sydney Metro Northwest projects.
Damien has also provided executive oversight and support for more than 15 infrastructure projects and refinancings in the Asia Pacific, including in the social infrastructure, transportation and university sectors, and sits on Plenary’s Investment Committee, Regional and Project Company boards.
Prior to joining Plenary in 2010, Damien worked in institutional and investment banking, and for global infrastructure developers in Melbourne, London and Singapore.
Damien holds a Bachelor of Commerce/Agricultural Science from the University of Melbourne (Australia) and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
