Having achieved Financial Close on the new Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health in Brampton, Ontario, Plenary Health is gearing up for construction to commence on site.
Infrastructure Ontario and William Osler Health System awarded the fixed price contract to Plenary Health to design, build, finance and maintain the new Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness, located in downtown Brampton.
The Plenary Health team includes:
The $491 million project will provide patients with specialized care in a modern facility. It will serve as a model for community partnerships, offering more choices for patients, increased access to high quality services and innovative models of care.
Plenary Concessions CEO, Mike Marasco, said the project will focus on sustainable design and construction.
“Our key goal for the design of this facility is to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Silver certification,” he said.
“Also at the heart of the Centre’s design is achieving a healthy indoor environment, which maximizes the use of sustainable resources in both energy materials, which will ensure an efficient cost and effective use of the facility by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”
This Plenary Health project will provide substantial economic support to the local community through job creation, with more than 50 per cent of workers sourced locally. It is expected approximately 600 workers will be on site daily, at the peak of construction.
The project’s Design-Builder, PCL Constructors Canada, has mobilized on site and construction is expected to commence immediately.
