AUSTRALIA – Plenary has been recognised for its active commitment to achieving workplace gender equality, receiving a Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice for Gender Equality 2022-2024 citation; the gold standard for employers committed to making positive, measurable improvements in achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces.
Plenary was assessed on its leadership, learning and development, commitment to reducing gender remuneration gaps, flexible working and other initiatives to support family responsibilities, employee consultation, preventing sex-based harassment and discrimination, and targets for improving gender equality outcomes.
Workplace Gender Equality Agency Director Mary Wooldridge said Plenary joins 24 other new employers and 104 existing citation holders being publicly recognised for their gender equality efforts.
“Leading employers like Plenary have stepped up to the plate by taking action to accelerate change for gender equality in the workplace,” Ms Wooldridge said.
“WGEA’s Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation verifies to employees and potential employees that an organisation is taking meaningful action to improve the working lives of women and men throughout the business.”
Plenary Chief Executive David Lamming said Plenary is committed to providing a workplace environment that values and celebrates diversity, inclusion and gender equality.
“The WGEA citation recognises we have made a concerted effort towards diversity, inclusion and gender equality over the past couple of years and I’m pleased to see the progress we have made particularly in increasing the number of females in our senior leadership, executive and board positions,” Mr Lamming said.
“Our approach to workplace participation and diversity is underpinned by our processes and policies that promote and support equal opportunities such as flexible working arrangements, recruitment practices, accessibility resources and facilities, codes of conduct, access to leave, as well as ongoing development and career progression opportunities.
“We look forward to continuing to improve and striving to lead in the way in which we do business, working collaboratively with WGEA and others in the continuation of our diversity and inclusion journey.”
