Long Beach, CA – On July 29, the City of Long Beach and Plenary Properties Long Beach celebrated the grand opening of the new Long Beach Civic Center, which included a new City Hall and Port Administration Building.
The opening marked a major milestone in the innovative public-private partnership with Plenary Properties Long Beach. The $520 million project was designed to bring a revitalized civic core to downtown to serve residents, attract visitors and provide safe and efficient city operations.
Located on the site of the former Long Beach Courthouse, the new City Hall and Port Administration buildings are seismically safe and environmentally sustainable, with solar power and rain water capture and reuse systems. Both buildings are designed to achieve a LEED® Gold rating.
The project also includes a new Main Library, scheduled to open on September 21, 2019, and a revitalized Lincoln Park, scheduled for completion in 2021.
