Plenary Concessions Executive Chairman Dale Bonner has shared his view on the ever-changing US P3 landscape.

Speaking to industry publication P3 Bulletin Dale discussed his hope for the future of public-private partnerships (P3s) in the US, and the importance of a local government influence to ensure further opportunities emerge.

Bringing influence from his extensive industry experience, Dale gave his assessment of the infrastructure market, emphasizing the importance of ensuring there is a focus on not only new infrastructure projects but also existing projects.

“Every project we are delivering now is an opportunity to demonstrate value and move the conversation forward,” Dale said.

“If the US is to develop its track record, we must all deliver on the projects that are happening now.”

Dale also spoke of what’s ahead for the business in the future, saying this coming year will have an ‘asset delivery’ focus.

“For us it will be a year of what I call asset delivery. There is Long Beach Civic Center [Redevelopment project], UC Merced [2020 project] and [Pennsylvania Rapid Bridge Replacement project] Penn Bridges, which are all in highly intensive delivery phases this year and next, so we will be focused on those as we continue to pursue the newer projects.”

Dale moved to Plenary in 2013 following his success in delivering California’s P3 legislation while serving as Secretary of Business, Transportation and Housing under Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
