Two Plenary projects in the US have won international recognition at the 2016 IJGlobal Awards presented in March.
The UC Merced 2020 project won Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year, and the Long Beach Civic Centre Redevelopment was awarded Bond Deal of the Year.
Plenary Concessions Executive Chairman Dale Bonner said the awards were great recognition of the team’s work and of Plenary’s standing within the P3 market in the US.
“We expected significant growth opportunities in the US market and our team has had success in a number of projects since opening our offices in 2013,” Mr Bonner said.
“Receiving this international recognition has cemented our position as a leading player in the P3 market in the US.”
As the first hybrid P3 project to be closed in the US, the US$520 million Long Beach Civic Centre Redevelopment combines both public infrastructure and private development within a single project.
The US$1.3 billion UC Merced 2020 project is the first true P3 in the higher education sector in the US.
Plenary’s North American Business now has 29 projects across the US and Canada totalling in excess of US$22 billion.
