Port Royal, Bahamas — Today, Prime Minister Philip Davis signed the Management Agreement for the improvement and operation of the South Bimini International Airport with Bimini Airport Development Partners, a company jointly owned by Phoenix Infrastructure and Plenary Americas. The partnership includes Avports, an airport operations company.
The collaboration sets the stage for airfield improvement and upgrading the terminal facilities to accommodate additional international and domestic commercial flights into the airport and enhanced customer service. “We are extremely pleased to be part of this project and proud to be working in partnership with Plenary Americas and Avports as we deliver a world-class airport to the people of Bimini and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. As world travel continues to rise beyond pandemic-era levels, now is the perfect time to deliver enhanced access for air carriers to this beautiful part of the world through an upgraded facility that this island deserves,” stated Jeremy M. Ebie, Founder and CEO of Phoenix Infrastructure Group.
At a recent public meeting about the project, Dr. Kenneth Romer, the Ministry of Tourism, Investments, and Aviation’s deputy director and acting director of Aviation, described the selection of Phoenix Infrastructure, Plenary Americas, and Avports as best-in-class. Additional public meetings will be scheduled in the coming months to engage the local community in the proposed developments.
