AUSTRALIA – Plenary is now a member of the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.
The UN Global Compact is a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.
Plenary joins more than 15,000 companies in more than 160 countries committed to taking responsible business action to create a more sustainable world.
Plenary Head of Sustainability and ESG Belinda Bradberry said joining the Compact is one of the many ways the company is working towards responsible custodianship of public infrastructure.
“We are committed to achieving meaningful, continuing improvements on sustainability issues and joining the Compact forms a key part of this, as part of our broader ESG strategy,” Ms Bradberry said.
Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in its Sustainable Development Goals.
Plenary’s membership of the UN Global Compact follows other highlight initiatives such as the company becoming a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment and the certification of its corporate operations as Climate Active carbon neutral since 2020.
Plenary looks forward to the challenge of reducing emissions across its investment portfolio and addressing many other important items on its sustainability agenda, working in partnership with project stakeholders. Visit Plenary’s Sustainability and ESG page for further information.
