LONDON, UK – Plenary has won Sponsor/Developer of the Year and the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport SSTOM project has won Best Transport Project at the 2023 Partnerships Awards. Sydney Metro was also recognised as Public Sector Promoter/Procurer of the Year.

The annual awards are the biggest celebration of excellence in the public-private partnership (PPP) industry across the UK and Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.

Approaching two decades as a leading developer and manager of public infrastructure, Plenary’s portfolio of projects underlines the unique strengths of our model as a truly independent PPP infrastructure specialist, adding value at every step of the procurement process.

Highlights of Plenary’s work as a sponsor/developer in 2022 include:

In December 2022, Sydney Metro contracted the Plenary-led Parklife Metro consortium to finance, design, construct and operate for 15 years the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) project.

The city-shaping project comprises the delivery of six new metro stations between St Marys and the new Aerotropolis, 12 new metro trains, core rail systems and a stabling and maintenance facility at Orchard Hills.

It is also providing major economic stimulus for western Sydney and New South Wales more broadly, supporting more than 14,000 jobs during construction.
